How your payment is protected
Your card details never reach us
When you enter your card details at checkout, they go directly to Stripe or PayPal — not to us. We never see, store, or transmit your full card number. This is known as a tokenised payment flow.
Encrypted connection
Every page on jcphardware.co.uk is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption, so data sent between your browser and our site can't be intercepted or read by anyone in between.
Strong Customer Authentication
Our checkout uses 3D Secure (3DS) as required by UK and EU regulations. Your bank may ask you to confirm the purchase using their app or a text code — this helps stop unauthorised use of your card.
PCI DSS certified processors
Stripe and PayPal are both certified to the highest level of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS Level 1) — the same standard used by banks and major retailers. By routing all card handling through them, we stay out of the sensitive data loop entirely.

- Even if our systems were compromised, your card data wouldn't be there to steal
- Your bank's fraud protection still applies in the normal way
- If there's ever a suspicious transaction, you're protected by your card issuer's chargeback rights
- For extra protection, paying with PayPal adds their Buyer Protection on top of your card rights
